Dr. Lori Sanford MD, FAAD
Dr. Sanford grew up in Hamilton Ohio and graduated from Talawanda High School. She attended Ball State University and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry, She attended Indiana University School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her dermatology residency at Indiana University.
Dr. Sanford has been practicing dermatology in Hancock County since 2013, before starting her own practice in March of 2016. She is proud to be affiliated with Hancock Regional Hospital and enjoys participating in community events such as the skin cancer screening at the yearly Heartbeats festival and the women helping women dinner.
Dr. Sanford has been married to her husband Mark for 10 years and has 3 children, Warren, Nolan, and Rose.
Gena grew up in Belle Harbor, NY. She attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Policy, Analysis and Management. She worked for a few years in business, and although she enjoyed her work, she knew her passion was for medicine and patient care. Gena then attended Columbia University in New Work, NY were she obtained both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Nursing. She is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. During her training, she recognized her love of dermatology. She began her career in a dermatology practice on the north side of Indianapolis, and then transitioned into a position with IU Health. She is excited to continue to provide quality dermatologic care with Hancock Dermatology.
Abbey is from a small town in southern Indiana and has lived in the Indianapolis area for over ten years.
She attended Indiana University to begin her undergraduate studies and graduated from the IU School of Dentistry in Indianapolis in 2010. Abbey worked as a dental hygienist for two years before deciding to explore her passion for medicine and attend physician assistant school. She graduated from the IUPUI Physician Assistant program in 2015 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Abbey began her career as a PA in the emergency department, where she gained invaluable experiences and a broad spectrum of knowledge. She is excited to now be part of Dr. Sanford’s team at Hancock Dermatology, providing care to patients with dermatologic needs. Abbey is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Aside from her career, Abbey loves the Indianapolis Colts and was a Colts cheerleader for four years! She had the opportunity to cheer at Super Bowl XLIV, which is an experience she’ll always cherish. She also enjoys taking and teaching Pure Barre classes in her free time.
Abbey recently married her husband, Trevor, and they reside in Fishers.
Taylor is originally from Northwest Indiana, but she moved to Indianapolis in 2009 for college. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from IUPUI in 2013, and she graduated from IUPUI Physician Assistant Program in 2015 with her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Taylor practiced as an emergency medicine PA for the last four years and would not trade her experience for the world.
For as long as she can remember, Taylor has been interested in dermatology. During PA school, she chose dermatology as her elective rotation and loved it. She is ecstatic to be a part of Dr. Sanford’s team and is ready to serve the residents of Hancock County and the surrounding areas!
Taylor has lived in New Palestine with her husband, Jordan, for over three years. She loves traveling, exercising, playing with her golden retriever, Colt, and going to Church with her husband.
Katie is a recent college graduate, earning her Bachelors in Communication, and serves as our Administrative Manager. Though new to dermatology, she has worked in healthcare for the past five years and loves having the opportunity to interact with and assist others. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons, and as an avid motorsports fan she’s always looking for an excuse to get out to a racetrack.
Heather is part of our administrative staff and works in our front office. She come to us with vast customer service experience and enjoys making a difference in our community and lives of our patients. Heather is an avid dog lover, and enjoys spending time with her husband traveling and going to car shows.
Star joins our front office team with over ten years of customer service and management experience. An Indiana University graduate, Star is a central Indiana native and is looking forward to making a difference in our community. In her spare time, Star enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, son and two dogs.
Ericka serves as a administrative assistant for Hancock Dermatology. She has been in dermatology almost 4 years now and still loves every minute of it, especially interacting with her community. She is married and enjoys baking in her free time.
Sarah is one of our administrative assistants working in the front office. She is a certified EMT, and is currently working towards obtaining her certification as a Dermatology Technician. Sarah has interest in emergency medicine and surgical procedures, and hopes to use her knowledge to serve our patients and our community. Sarah and her husband, Tyler, live in McCordsville with their two daughters and love to travel, hike, and finding new kids parks.
Julie is an Air Force veteran, a Certified Dermatology Technician, and has been a medial assistant for 13 years. She lives in Greenfield with her husband and two children (daughter- Peyton and son- Aiden). Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work in many different clinics. She is organized and passionate about her job. She states, “what better way to help people then to have a profession in the health care industry”.
Christopher has been intrigued with working in the medical field ever since he could remember. Coming from a medical family, he has always wanted to help people. Christopher worked at a local nursing home providing care to the residents for 2 years before joining us. He was born and raised here in Hancock county. He loves spending time with his family and loving girlfriend Samantha.
Sally is a Certified Dermatology Technician with 13 years experience as a medical assistant. She loves to interact and assist with patients. Sally and her family live in New Castle, they enjoy outdoor activities and taking road trips.
